Cricket Betting at vib taka – Bet on BPL, IPL and International Matches
From T20 to Test, from match winner to over-by-over markets — cricket betting at vib taka means odds that shift with every ball and a familiar market experience.
From T20 to Test — three formats, three experiences
Betting strategy differs for each format. It helps to understand the format before placing a bet.
T20 Cricket
Just 20 overs per side. Franchise leagues like BPL and IPL are played in this format. Odds shift very quickly, as the match can turn around in a single over.
Fast-Paced Franchise LeaguesODI Cricket
This 50-over format covers ICC World Cups and bilateral series. When the run rate fluctuates during the middle overs, new opportunities open up in the betting markets.
World Cup 50 OversTest Cricket
In this five-day format, a draw is a valid result. Pitch condition, weather and team depth all influence the betting markets — so gathering information in advance is important.
Three Outcomes Long MatchBangladesh Cricket Calendar
The BPL season is the most talked-about event among betting fans in Bangladesh. Held every winter, the tournament sees local and overseas players come together in their respective teams. Alongside BPL, IPL, the T20 World Cup and Bangladesh's international series all feature prominently in vib taka's betting markets.
For any home or away series involving the Tigers, you can find various markets ranging from match winner to over/under. As international matches are linked to ICC rankings, the odds tend to be more competitive.
Football and other sports — alongside cricket
Football Betting
Betting on European tournaments like the Premier League, La Liga or the Champions League differs from cricket in a few ways. Football has three possible outcomes — home win, draw and away win — so the odds structure is different.
In limited-overs cricket, a draw is generally not possible, so the odds are split between two outcomes. In Test cricket, a draw is possible, making it a three-outcome market similar to football.
Handicap markets are very popular in football — the weaker team is given a head-start in goals to balance the market. The cricket equivalent of this is the run handicap market.
Other Sports
Beyond cricket and football, betting markets are also available for kabaddi, tennis and badminton. Because each sport has its own rules, the method of calculating odds differs as well.
vib taka also has a live gaming section like MT Live, where you can play live dealer games alongside sports betting.
Popular betting markets in cricket — how each one works
Each market requires a different kind of analysis. Below is a brief introduction to 7 main markets.
Match Winner
The simplest market — which team will win the match? In limited-overs cricket, there are two options. Example: Team A vs Team B — if you bet ৳1,000 on Team B and Team B wins, you get back ৳2,300 (৳1,300 profit); if Team A wins, you lose ৳1,000.
Toss Betting
A bet on which team wins the toss before the match starts. The odds are generally close to even for both teams. It is brief, as the toss result is entirely down to chance.
Top Batsman
Which batsman will score the most runs in the match or innings? Each selected player has their own odds in this market. Analysing form and pitch conditions makes this market clearer.
Total Runs Over/Under
You choose whether the total runs scored will be above or below a set line (e.g. 160 runs). It is important to consider the pitch report and the batting strength of both teams.
Multi Bet
Combining multiple matches or events into a single bet. If all selections are correct, the payout multiplies, but if even one is wrong, the entire bet is lost. Example: three selections at odds of 1.40, 1.50 and 1.60 — combined odds are 3.36, so a ৳100 bet returns ৳336 if all win.
First Wicket Fall
A bet on which over the first wicket will fall in the innings. The opening partnership's style and the bowling attack are the most important factors here.
Handicap Betting
The weaker team is given a run advantage to balance the market. The result is determined by adding or subtracting the handicap from the final run total — the outcome is straightforward even without knowing any stake or return figures.
Decimal, fractional and American odds — what is the difference?
The odds for the same match may be shown in three different formats. The examples below explain each one.
| Odds Format | If Team A wins (৳1,000 bet) | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Decimal 3.00 | ৳3,000 returned | ৳2,000 profit + ৳1,000 stake |
| Fractional 2/1 | ৳3,000 returned | ৳2 profit for every ৳1 bet |
| American +200 | ৳3,000 returned | ৳200 profit on a ৳100 bet |
Example 1 (not the favourite): Team A's odds are 3.00 in decimal, 2/1 in fractional and +200 in American. A ৳1,000 bet returns a total of ৳3,000 if Team A wins — ৳2,000 profit and ৳1,000 stake back. If they lose, ৳1,000 is gone.
Example 2 (favourite): Team B is the favourite — odds are 1.80 in decimal, 4/5 in fractional and -125 in American. -125 means you need to bet ৳125 to win ৳100 profit. A ৳1,000 bet returns ৳1,800 if Team B wins (৳800 profit).
vib taka's betting interface generally uses the decimal format, as it gives the most straightforward calculation. Register at vib taka Bet to view the odds directly.
Multi Bet Calculation
Three selections at odds of 1.40, 1.50 and 1.60 — multiplied together, the combined odds are 3.36 (approximately). A ৳100 bet returns ৳336 if all win. But if any one selection loses, the entire ৳100 is gone.
In-play betting during the match — odds change every moment
In-play betting means you can still place bets after the match has started. In cricket, this is especially dynamic — because every wicket, every boundary and every dot ball directly affects the odds.
Say a team loses a wicket and falls behind in the 15th over of a T20 match — at that moment, the opposing team's odds will shorten and the trailing team's odds will lengthen. These changes happen very quickly, so if you take too long to decide, the odds may already have moved.
If the required run rate in the last five overs is well above the target, the defending team's odds drop quickly. Similarly, if an experienced batsman comes in at the last moment, the odds may level out again.
Things to keep in mind for in-play betting
Build good habits in cricket betting
Betting is for entertainment. Following the habits below will keep your experience more organised.
Understand the format before betting
A T20 match can see 20 runs in a single over, but 60 runs in a session is normal in Test cricket. It is important to choose the over/under line for each format with that pace in mind.
Set your budget in advance
Decide how much you will bet on a match before it starts. Splitting it into several smaller bets rather than placing everything at once gives you more experience and keeps losses under control. Follow the responsible gaming guidelines.
Know the pitch and weather
Whether the pitch suits spin or pace has a big impact on top batsman or total runs bets. If weather disrupts an ODI or Test, the outcome of your bet can change.
Keep a betting record
Keeping track of which markets you bet on, how much, and what the result was makes it easier to make more organised decisions in the future.
